About the role
Robot learning runs on demonstrations, and the best demonstration data sits with people who rarely think of themselves as data providers: university labs, integrators, teleoperation shops, warehouses and hardware startups. As a Data Scout you find them, earn their trust and bring them into the HUMXN network, so that when an AI team asks for a new kind of robot data, we already know who can make it.
What you'll do
- Map the robotics supply landscape: labs, operators, integrators and companies with relevant hardware, scenes and skills.
- Open and run conversations with potential providers, from first outreach to signed agreement.
- Translate buyer requests into sourcing plans: who can record what, on which embodiments, in which environments.
- Work with Data Operations to pilot new providers and hold them to our verification and consent standards.
- Keep a clear pipeline of providers and capabilities that the rest of the team can rely on.
What we're looking for
- Experience in business development, partnerships, sourcing or field roles, ideally around robotics, hardware or research.
- Enough technical fluency to talk credibly about teleoperation setups, sensors and data formats.
- Comfort starting conversations with people who have never been asked, and following through for months.
- Organized, written-first communication.
Nice to have
- A network in robotics research or industrial automation.
- Experience with data licensing or research agreements.
