Robot demonstrations from trained operators.
Robot policies learn from demonstrations, and demonstrations are only as good as the operator. We commission trained operators to record and label them.
Teleoperation, with proof.
Imitation learning depends on demonstrations that are consistent, deliberate and honestly labeled. Common problems include hesitant or jerky motions, inconsistent grasp strategies across episodes, failed attempts labeled as successes, and datasets with no recovery behavior, so a policy never learns what to do after a slip. HUMXN commissions trained operators to record demonstrations with leader arms, VR controllers and other teleoperation rigs, then labels each episode for success, failure and the recovery strategies that matter.
Each episode is captured with synchronized camera, joint state and action streams, fingerprinted at intake with frame hashes and checked for duplicates. Operator consent and any location releases are bound to the episode, faces and identifying details in video go through safety screening, and label provenance records whether each label came from the operator, a model suggestion or an expert reviewer. A second reviewer checks every episode before delivery.
For operators, this is paid work that rewards steady hands and attention to detail. You record demonstrations to a task specification, label outcomes and review other operators' episodes, at a rate shown before you accept each job. Each job states the hardware and setup it requires. Prior experience with robots, VR, drones, heavy equipment or precision manual work helps. Approved work is paid automatically through Stripe.
Built to your specification.
Every engagement starts from a written spec and a pilot batch. These are the most common requests we source for teleoperation.
Manipulation demonstrations
Pick-and-place, assembly, tool use and deformable-object tasks recorded with leader arms or VR, to your task specification.
Bimanual episodes
Two-arm demonstrations for tasks such as folding, packing and handover, with both arms' actions synchronized.
Success and failure labels
Every episode labeled for outcome and failure type, so training and evaluation can filter honestly.
Recovery behaviors
Deliberate recoveries from slips, missed grasps and disturbances, which demonstration data usually lacks.
Language annotations
Task instructions and step-level descriptions aligned to episodes, for language-conditioned policies.
Policy evaluation runs
Operators and reviewers score policy rollouts against task criteria, with failure modes labeled.
01Inconsistent demonstrations
Mixed strategies across episodes confuse policies. Written task specs and operator review keep demonstrations consistent.
02No recovery data
Clean demonstrations never show what to do after a mistake. Commissioned recovery episodes fill that gap.
03Mislabeled outcomes
Failed episodes labeled as successes poison training. Second-reviewer checks confirm every outcome label.
04People in frame
Demonstrations can capture bystanders. Consent, releases and safety screening are applied before anything is delivered.
Paid work in your field.
Remote and flexible, with the rate stated before you accept. Every job is reviewed by a second expert, and approved work is paid automatically.
- Hands-on experience teleoperating robot arms, mobile robots or similar systems
- Proficiency with VR controllers or leader-follower arm setups
- Background in precision manual work, such as assembly, lab work or a skilled trade
- Experience operating drones, cranes or remote equipment
- Patience for repeated, consistent demonstrations to a written specification
Record demonstrations
Perform tasks through a leader arm or VR setup, following the task specification for each episode.
Record recoveries
Demonstrate how to recover from slips, missed grasps and disturbances, deliberately and safely.
Label episodes
Mark each episode's outcome, failure type and key steps, and add task instructions.
Review other operators
Check other operators' episodes and labels as second reviewer before delivery.
Teleoperation: asked often.
What robot platforms and rigs do you support?
Requests are scoped by robot, end effector, sensors and teleoperation interface, such as leader arms or VR controllers. We confirm feasibility during scoping, then match the request to operators experienced with that setup. A pilot batch lets your team check episode quality, synchronization and labels before production recording begins.
What format is the data delivered in?
Episodes include synchronized camera, joint state, action and gripper streams with outcome and language labels. Delivery is typically WebDataset or Parquet, with metadata in Croissant, and every episode is listed by ID and hash on a signed receipt. We can match your existing schema during scoping.
Do I need robotics experience to apply?
Not always. Direct teleoperation experience is ideal, but VR proficiency, precision manual work, skilled trades and remote equipment operation are also relevant. We verify identity and experience, and may ask for a short, paid assessment task. Each job states the hardware and setup it requires before you accept.
How do I get paid?
Rates are set by field and task and are shown before you accept a job. Once your episodes pass second review, the work is credited to your balance and paid automatically through Stripe after your identity and tax details are verified. Every job appears on an itemized ledger.
How much time is required?
There is no minimum commitment. Opportunities are offered when they match your verified experience, each with a stated scope, setup and deadline, and you choose which to accept. Recording sessions are often scheduled in blocks, and the listing states this up front.
Can we license demonstrations exclusively or on a standing order?
Yes. Commissioned demonstrations can be licensed exclusively, with scope, term and exclusivity agreed in writing. Standing orders keep new episodes arriving at the same specification, which suits teams adding tasks or scaling a policy over months. Every delivery carries a signed receipt and audit trail.
