In one of our live cities?
Tell us about the job. If it fits, the visit is on us.
The work we pay for.
Everyday skilled work: the kind of job you'd call a pro for anyway. Each one shows a robot how a trained person looks, tests, chooses tools and knows when the job is done.
01Plumbing
Leaks, dripping or failed fixtures, slow or blocked drains, garbage disposals, toilets, water heater problems and replacements.
02Electrical
Dead outlets and switches, light fixture and ceiling fan swaps, tripping breakers, panel checks, smart thermostat and doorbell wiring.
03HVAC
Furnace or air-conditioner not heating or cooling, seasonal tune-ups, noisy or short-cycling systems, thermostat and filter work.
04Air-duct cleaning
Whole-home duct and vent cleaning, dryer vent cleaning and the inspection that goes with it.
05Carpet cleaning
Whole-room and whole-home carpet cleaning, stain treatment and rugs.
06Something else
Tell us anyway. We're adding trades as the program grows, and a job that doesn't fit today may be a fit next month.
What makes a job qualify.
We're training AI on how real problems get solved in real homes. Four things decide whether we can pay for yours.
01It's a real repair or service
Diagnosing a problem, choosing the fix and doing it. That's the work robots need to learn, so it's what we pay for.
02It's in a live city
The home is in Minneapolis, Chicago, Miami or nearby, where we have participating service companies today.
03It's a normal-sized job
A service call or a day's work. Large remodels, new construction, roofing and emergency calls aren't part of the program yet.
04Recording the work is okay with you
The technician wears capture gear that documents the job from their point of view. We explain exactly what that means before you agree.
From request to finished job.
Nothing is scheduled or recorded until you've heard from us and said yes. Read the launch announcement for the thinking behind the program.
01Tell us about the project
Where the home is, what needs doing and a few sentences about it. Two minutes, no commitment.
02We check the fit
A person reads it and replies within one business day: yes, not yet, or a question or two.
03We match you with a company
A licensed, participating service company in your city reaches out to agree a time that works for you.
04The visit
The technician does the job as normal while wearing capture gear. You get the service, the company gets paid, and the work becomes training data.
What gets recorded, and what doesn't.
The data we're collecting is about skilled work, not about you. Here's how we keep it that way.
The work is the subject
Recording is from the technician's perspective and focuses on their hands, tools and the equipment being worked on.
Personal details are removed
Faces, names, mail, screens and other identifying details that end up in frame are blurred or removed before anything is shared.
Your address is never shared
Datasets describe the job, the equipment and the conditions, not who you are or where you live.
You can ask first
Want to know exactly what gets captured and who sees it? Ask in the form and we'll answer before anything is scheduled.
Questions about recording?

Free home service: your questions.
Is the home service really free?
Yes, for jobs that qualify. HUMXN pays the service company for the work because the recorded job becomes AI and robotics training data. You don't pay for the visit or the labor. If a job needs an unusually expensive part or goes beyond the agreed scope, we tell you before anything happens.
What kinds of jobs qualify?
Plumbing, electrical, HVAC, air-duct cleaning and carpet cleaning, at the scale of a normal service call or a day's work, in a city where the program is live. We're looking for real repairs and real service, not large remodels or new construction.
Which cities is the program in?
Requests are open in Minneapolis, Chicago, Miami. Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco are coming soon. Pick your city in the form and we'll let you know when we open there.
Who does the work?
Licensed, insured local home-service companies that have partnered with HUMXN. They do the job exactly as they would for any paying customer, and they're paid for it by us.
What gets recorded, and who sees it?
The technician wears capture gear that documents the job from their point of view: hands, tools, the equipment and the problem. Personal details that end up in frame are removed before anything is shared, your address is never shared, and the footage is used to train and evaluate AI and robotics systems by approved organizations under licence.
Do I have to be home?
Usually yes, the same as any service visit. You don't need to be on camera, and you're welcome to stay out of the way while the work is done.
What if my job doesn't fit?
We'll tell you plainly and, where we can, point you to a participating company anyway. We're adding trades and cities, so we may also come back to you later.
Ready to see if your job qualifies?
Free to ask. Nothing is scheduled until you say yes.
