Accessibility Statement

Our commitment to an accessible website, what we have done so far, and how to tell us about barriers.

01Our commitment

HUMXN wants its website to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who use assistive technologies. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. This statement describes our aim and the work we have done; it is not a claim of full conformance.

02Measures we take

  • Reduced motion: animations and scroll effects respect the operating system's reduced-motion setting.
  • Keyboard navigation: interactive elements can be reached and operated with a keyboard, with visible focus indicators.
  • Color contrast: text and interface colors are defined as design tokens chosen with contrast in mind, in both light and dark themes.
  • Text alternatives: meaningful images have alternative text, and decorative images are hidden from assistive technologies.
  • Structure: pages use semantic HTML, landmarks and a logical heading order to support screen readers.
  • Responsive layout: content reflows on small screens and when zoomed.

03Known limitations

Despite our efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible. Areas we know need further work include:

  • Some decorative animations and visual effects may be less informative for screen-reader users, although they carry no essential content.
  • Older articles and images may lack complete alternative text.
  • Third-party content and embeds, where present, may not meet the same standard.
  • The members' dashboard has not yet been assessed to the same extent as the public site. [Confirm after audit.]

04How we assess accessibility

We assess the site through self-evaluation, including keyboard-only testing, automated checks and spot checks with screen readers. We have not yet commissioned an independent accessibility audit.
